We caught up with Wojtek, one of the original Rebel’s, to find out what got him into barbering and why you’ll never find him cutting long hair ...
How did you get into barbering?
When I was growing up in Poland me and my mates used to cut each others hair! Our mums would give us money to go to the local barbers but we decided that we would rather spend the cash on other things so we would all take turns at cutting each other's hair. The majority of the haircuts we ended up with were pretty horrific, but I was pretty good at it so decided to formally train at college when I became old enough. I joined the Rebel team in 2006, and I still absolutely love it!
What’s your favourite style to cut?
I prefer shorter, more traditional styles, like skin fades, short back and sides a crew cuts, I am not a fan of cutting long hair so I don’t do it!
Your can’t live without Kevin Murphy product?
Well it was Gritty Business but it has been discontinued! I stockpiled loads of it but now I am down to my last tub, but I have it on good authority though that if you mix Free Hold with Rough Rider you get the same effect.
Who’s your hair icon?
I think Brad Pitt has had some amazing styles through the years, he seems to be able to make anything work whether it’s a buzz cut or a much longer style.
When you’re not barbering what do you get up to?
I have 2 kids, a 2 year old and an 8 year old so all my free time is spent with them and my wife doing family stuff. We like to get out and about in the parks in Glasgow and when time and weather allows we love exploring Scotland. When I am not with them I am cutting hair!
